Andy Maxant, Director of Ecotrel ASBL, joins the Board of Directors of the WEEE Forum: International Recognition for Luxembourg.

Press Release

Luxembourg, December 16, 2024

The WEEE FORUM, an international non-profit association comprising organizations that assume the obligations of producers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment worldwide, of which Ecotrel ASBL is a member, now welcomes Mr. Andy Maxant, Director of Ecotrel ASBL, to its Board of Directors. This marks a significant milestone in strengthening the country’s commitment on the international stage to promoting a circular economy.

The WEEE Forum works towards the sustainable management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) by supporting the harmonization of practices and promoting innovative and effective recycling strategies. Focusing on sustainability, innovation, and compliance, the WEEE Forum supports its members in developing concrete solutions to improve WEEE management while adhering to international legislative frameworks.

Mr. Maxant, with his expertise and dedication, will embody the organization’s values on the international stage while representing Luxembourg’s interests in a constantly evolving sector.

On the occasion of Ecotrel ASBL’s 20th anniversary and Ecobatterien’s 15th anniversary, the WEEE FORUM and EUCOBAT—representing, respectively, the international organizations for the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries—came together for the first time at the invitation of the two Luxembourg associations. Over three days in late May, they held their respective general assemblies and joint conferences at the European Convention Center Luxembourg.
